About Spencer
I’m Spencer Perilloux—a percussionist and educator committed to helping people engage with percussion in a smarter, more confident way.
I created MyPercussionPath to solve a problem I kept seeing across all kinds of musical settings: percussion is often under-supported, misunderstood, or taught by non-specialists doing their best without the tools they need. Whether you’re running a school band, preparing for a performance, or refining your own technique, I’ve built this platform to offer expert guidance without the overwhelm.
My training includes a Master of Music in Percussion Performance from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Music from Central Michigan University. I’ve worked with orchestras, chamber groups, jazz combos, solo repertoire, and live event settings—including educational roles with the Detroit Symphony’s Civic Youth Ensembles and schools across Michigan.
Through that experience, I’ve helped students earn All-State placements, guided band directors in elevating their percussion sections, and provided reliable, high-level performance for weddings, church services, musicals, and more.
